At Empower Skin & Scalp Spa, we are locally owned and operated by NY Licensed Aesthetician, Jessica Lahr. Jessica is a native to the Finger Lakes who exudes passion and pride for the region, along with an even more noteworthy devotion to her family, friends, and commitment to her amazing clients and business.
Professionally, Jessica began her journey with a cosmetology education, 19 years ago. She boasts an impressive 1,000 hours + of education in this field, in addition to 600 + hours of education focused solely on esthetics. While Jessica’s passion for empowering others through these professions is unmatched, she chose to pursue a life of marriage and family with the love of her life and owner of “I Heart FLX”, Chad Lahr in 2004. The two have been married for 17 years and welcomed two beautiful boys into their lives – Colby (16) and Max (14). Both Jessica and Chad share a love for all things Finger Lakes, the Buffalo Bills, UFC fights and boxing, enjoying new restaurants, wineries, breweries, the lake life, and of course, their sweet french bulldog, Ellie.
In 2018, with an urge to return to helping others feel confident and empowered, Jessica chose to return for more schooling in the field of esthetics. At this time, she really fell head over heels with the practices she was learning and knew this was to be her path in life. After becoming a licensed aesthetician, Jessica pursued a career as the lead Aesthetician at a medical spa in Rochester, NY where she personally started and grew their esthetics program from the ground up. While this proved to be incredibly fulfilling for her, she knew deeply that some day she’d want to branch out for herself, and start serving her home community in the Finger Lakes. This led to the creation of your very own “Empower Skin & Scalp Spa”. Jessica seeks to encourage each of her clients to “Love the Skin You’re In” and is committed to helping each and every one of them to do so.
Notably as well, Jessica also not only became a professional makeup artist in 2015, but also achieved her title as Mrs. New York in the same year. By overcoming challenges and facing fears to reach her goals, she is determined to help others do the same. She believes that her career isn’t as superficial as it may look from the outside. By helping men and women grow in confidence, she’s watched as it has the ability to positively impact their lives in so many ways. Danielle is a NYS certified Licensed Aesthetician who has a true passion for people. Her vision and intentions personally and professionally align beautifully with the Empower brand. Her mission is to use her gifts, life experience, and Esthetics knowledge to empower others to look and feel their best. She began her journey in Esthetics at Continental School of Beauty, completing 600+ hours in 2018. Since then, Danielle has developed longstanding relationships and a loyal clientele. She comes with a broad spectrum of experience from the medical aesthetics and beauty industry with a true love and heart for skincare, the science behind it and most importantly the results it offers to her clients. In July 2022 Danielle competed in the Miss NY pageant, her first ever pageant experience, and won the title of Miss NY for America Strong 2022.
In just three short weeks, she prepared to spend nearly two weeks rehearsing, doing appearances and photo shoots in Las Vegas, Nevada along with every other state titleholder in the Miss pageant.
On August 18th, 2022, she humbly and confidently walked the National stage competing in gown, swim-wear and also represented the Finger Lakes region of NY with her costume. Her interview competition where she shared her heart for service along with her platform, followed by her graceful stage presence that day is what landed her placing first in the Top 15, then Top 6 where she spoke from her heart and shared her platform, The Power of Transformation. Lastly, Danielle ended up making the Top 3 and placed 2nd runner-up while representing NY and the FLX region beautifully! She was excited to come back home to her friends and family, and eager to get back to her career and love of serving others. Her hope is to be able to instill in people confidence to chase their dreams and courage to not let fear keep them from trying something new. “At Empower Skin and Scalp Spa, we hope to create an atmosphere that is truly uplifting. Lacey Fox-Smith, CPNP holds a Masters Degree in Children and Families and a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Rochester School of Nursing. She has been working as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner since 2013 at private pediatric offices in Livingston and Monroe Counties. She truly loves caring for children and their families and continues this profession part-time.
After spending 9 years as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Lacey wanted to expand her medical experience to include aesthetics. She underwent training and certification through Aesthetic Medical Educators Training and was pleased to offer Botulinum Toxin A injections along with dermal fillers for lips, nasolabial folds, and marionette lines. She has continued to expand her training to include hand rejuvenation and education of medical grade skin care prescriptions.
You may know Sydney from the countless businesses she has helped around the Finger Lakes or from the many events she has emceed. But here at our office, we know her as our incredible office manager. Sydney’s journey began at MCC, where she studied broadcasting and communication, honing her skills in connecting with people and building relationships.
With over ten years of experience in sales and marketing, Sydney brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our team. She also manages our spa’s social media pages, ensuring our online presence is engaging and vibrant.
Her genuine passion for people and exceptional interpersonal skills make her a standout in everything she does. Beyond her role as our office manager, Sydney is also a certified spray tan artist with over two year of experience at Empower Skin and Scalp Spa, where she brings her expertise and vibrant personality to each client. Sydney’s mission is to make people feel their most beautiful self, comfortable, and confident in their own skin and she does so with her innate trait of being your instant hype girl and cheerleader in life from the second she meets you.
